During the past several months, RESPEC's Mining and Energy (M&E) business unit has undergone a strategic internal restructuring to enhance the representation and specialization of our skills and services. Our M&E group comprises individuals with diverse expertise who excel in four key areas: industrial minerals, metals, construction materials, and energy. Within each of these sectors, we offer expert services throughout the entire mine life cycle for a wide range of commodities.
INDUSTRIAL MINERALS
Industrial minerals, such as potash and salt, have been the cornerstone of our M&E organization for decades, and they remain integral to our company. I am privileged to lead the growth of this group, supported by four exceptional leaders: Cody Vining (rock mechanics), Brett Dueck (Saskatoon office), Chris Johnson (hydrogeology), and Erik Hemstad (Western Slope). Together with our teams, we provide a comprehensive array of services, from grassroots exploration to abandoned mine land reclamation. Our mission is to continue developing our service offerings for clients involved in the extraction of critical minerals essential for our growing global population.
METALS
Our metals team is expanding into Alaska, working closely with our Infrastructure business unit to offer improved services to our mining clients. Under the guidance of experienced leaders Mike Lindholm and Jeff Bickel, we are actively seeking new business opportunities and promoting the growth of local geological talent, while maintaining the high standards set by our predecessors. Furthermore, Jordan Anderson is leading significant growth within the metals engineering group. By combining our expertise, we are dedicated to providing exceptional support and creative solutions to our valued metals clients.
CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS
Our team based in Lexington, Kentucky, has a strong history in the construction materials sector, serving the global coal, aggregates, and cement industries. RESPEC has been expanding our construction materials group across our offices in the United States. Our team builds upon the legacy established by John Morgan, offering geology and engineering services to meet the evolving demands of the construction materials industry. We actively seek ways to help our clients reduce their carbon footprints through feasibility studies and operational optimization. Edmundo Laporte, Carolyn McCannon, Mike Wright, and Mike Ricci are leading our international and regional, engineering and geology services, with ongoing support from our Vice President, Stephen Kan.
ENERGY
Recognizing the world's shift toward clean energy, we have designated our energy services as a distinct market sector. This division encompasses our world-class rock-testing laboratory, cavern group, and reservoir engineering team. Our energy sector leads the way in developing hydrogen, carbon capture, cavern storage, and geothermal projects on a global scale. Sam Voegeli spearheads this team, supported by Matt Minnick, Stuart Buchholz, and Kevin Heiberger. Together, they drive innovation and deliver cutting-edge solutions for our reservoir, laboratory and cavern clients.
At RESPEC, we are committed to nurturing and promoting our internal talent. We are fortunate to have a robust team of emerging leaders who are poised to guide RESPEC into the future of mining and provide services that support the world's critical minerals demand and the transition to clean energy.
Thank you,
Tabetha
